The Salzburg 2018 group safely returned to the US this week in time to celebrate the 4th of July with family and friends. However, the month of a lifetime is still clearly etched in the minds of the Salzbloggers who sent along some of their favorite photos from their last days frolicking through the hills, taking in the sights, and soaking up memories with friends who became like family.

During the wait up to the Rodelbahn, Haley, Melissa, and Lauren found a playground and made good use of the fun swings!

During our last day in Austria, Kelley was actually able to make a quick trip over the border into Germany! Who says you can’t be in two places at once??

Erin, Emily, Emma & Maddie found a lookout point in Hallein on the walk back from the salt mine to the train station. The town was like a little Salzburg – very picturesque and beautiful.
During our last weekend in Salzburg, we visited “Musikfest” which was a traditional Austrian festival much like a smaller version of Oktoberfest. There was a parade followed by this large festival of food and music in a large tent just outside of Salzburg.
On their last day in Salzburg, Maddie, Erin, Emily & Emma left their mark by putting a lock on the lock bridge, symbolizing their amazing month in Salzburg and the friendship they had made in the last month!
Haley spent her last real day in the city roaming the town, getting coffee, taking pictures, and reminiscing on the trip.
A quick shot of one of Kelley’s favorite sections of Mirabell gardens. During our final days in Salzburg, Kelley spent a lot of her time wandering through the city to take in as much as she could before leaving. Oddly enough, she would almost always wind up back here at Mirabell to stop and smell the roses.
The last night of the trip consisted of students and professors walking a short trail to find spectacular views of the city at night. Beautiful!
Grace here! My family came to Salzburg to see the beautiful city I’ve been living in the last month. First thing on our travel list: Untersberg!
Grace’s sister, Katie, and Grace stood on the top of the mountain together! They were thrilled and relieved to make it to the top.
Day two of our family vacation was relaxed. We sat in cafes and walked through Mirabellplatz. It was beautiful!
Once arriving in Vienna, Grace ordered a lager from a street cafe! It had a pop-off top and a delicious taste.
Kelley’s first selfie taken on US soil in over a month. Even though we were all happy to back home, each of us knew that once we got off that plane the trip would really be over. Don’t let the smiles fool you, the moment was very bittersweet.
